Kinetics Privacy Policy

Last updated: 17 August 2026

Kinetics is a construction project management application operated by Lyle Contracting Solutions Inc. ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the Kinetics mobile app and web application collect, why, where it is stored, and who else can see it.

Kinetics is not a consumer app. There is no public sign-up. Accounts exist only by invitation from an organization administrator, and every record is scoped to the organization that created it. If you do not have an invitation, installing the app gives you no access to any data.

Information we collect

Account information

When an administrator invites you, we store your name, email address, your role within the organization, and an authentication record used to sign you in. Passwords are never stored in readable form.

Work records you create

The app exists to record construction work. Depending on what you use, this includes daily log entries, time entries and labor hours, time-and-material tickets and their signatures, punch list items, material and equipment tracking, project and cost-code information, and directory records for subcontractors and workers.

Photos and documents

With your permission, the app uses your device camera to capture job site photos, and your photo library to attach existing images, to daily logs and time-and-material tickets. We read the capture date embedded in a photo so it can be sorted correctly. We do not scan your photo library; we access only the specific images you choose to attach.

Location

With your permission, the app reads your device location only while the app is open, and only to center the logistics map on where you are. This position is not written to our database, is not associated with your user record, and is not shared with anyone. The app does not track your location in the background and cannot follow your movements.

Microphone and dictation

With your permission, the app uses your microphone and your device's speech recognition so you can dictate field entries instead of typing. We store the resulting text as part of the record you were writing. We do not store or transmit the audio recording itself.

Speech recognition is performed by your device's operating system. On Apple devices this uses Apple's Speech Recognition service, which, depending on your device and settings, may transmit the audio to Apple for processing. That processing is governed by Apple's privacy policy, not ours. If you prefer not to use it, simply type instead — dictation is always optional.

What we do not collect

How your data is stored

Application records are stored in a hosted PostgreSQL database with per-organization access rules enforced at the database level, so one organization's data cannot be read by another. Photos and documents are stored in private cloud object storage that is not publicly reachable; files are served only through short-lived signed links issued after we verify you are allowed to see them.

Because the app is built for job sites with poor connectivity, a copy of your organization's working data is also stored on your device so the app functions offline. It syncs when you reconnect. Signing out or uninstalling removes that local copy from the device.

Service providers

We use the following providers to operate the service. They process data on our instructions only.

ProviderPurpose
SupabaseDatabase and authentication
CloudflarePhoto and document storage, DNS, and network delivery
VercelWeb application hosting
AnthropicOptional AI assistance features. Text you submit to an AI feature is sent for processing and is not used to train models.
ResendTransactional email, such as invitations and order notifications
Google MapsMap display within the logistics map
Apple / GoogleOperating-system speech recognition when you use dictation

Data synchronization between devices and our database runs on server infrastructure we operate ourselves; it is not handled by a third-party sync provider.

Who can see your data

Records you create are visible to other members of your organization, according to the role your administrator assigned you. They are not visible to members of any other organization. We access organization data only when necessary to operate the service, to resolve a support request, or where required by law.

Retention and deletion

We retain organization records for as long as the organization maintains an account, because construction documentation is frequently needed long after a job closes for warranty, billing, and dispute purposes. An administrator can deactivate a member at any time, which immediately ends that person's access.

To request deletion of your personal information, or an export of the records associated with you, contact us at the address below. We will respond within 30 days. Note that work records created in the course of employment generally belong to the organization, and requests to delete them are directed to that organization's administrator.

Security

All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit. Stored files are private by default and reachable only through expiring signed links. Access to data is enforced by row-level security rules in the database itself, not only in application code. No system is perfectly secure, but access to a Kinetics account requires an invitation issued by an organization administrator.

Children

Kinetics is a workplace tool intended for adults in a professional setting. It is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a change indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
